Raiders get back in win column
Team’s district title hopes are still alive

WILLIAMSBURG — Back on track, with their district football title hopes still alive, Williamburg heads into the final week of the regular season.
The Raiders (4-4) got up to 48-0 over Knoxville by halftime and cruised to a 48-15 victory.
Coming off a loss to Winterset, the Raiders needed to win to stay alive for a Class 3A District 5 title.
The Raiders close the season Friday against Saydel (1-7). With a win, they’ll clinch a playoff berth. With a Williamsburg win and a Winterset loss, the Raiders will be district champions, guaranteeing a home playoff game.
Belle Plaine 56, Winfield-Mt. Union 42
WINFIELD — The Plainsmen finished 8-player District 5 play with a win over Winfield-Mt. Union Friday, earning them a spot in the playoffs after an 0-3 start.
The team rushed for an impressive 409 yards on the ground, with Aidan Timm having 273 yards and four touchdowns himself. Wade Sankot had 122.
Peyton Dostal added two scores and 114 yards receiving, as the Plainsmen put together their best offensive performance of the season.
Belle Plaine (4-4) will play on the road in the first round of the playoffs.
Montezuma 63, Baxter 28
MONTEZUMA — With a playoff spot already clinched, Montezuma cruised to a victory in its regular season finale to move to 6-2 heading into the postseason.
The Braves put up 44 points in the middle two quarters to separate in this one.
Broox Stockman and Brady Boulton each had three rushing TDs a piece, as the team totaled 425 yards of offense.
Dane Strong had 82 yards receiving.
The Braves also had four interceptions defensively.
BGM 40, North Mahaska 0
BROOKLYN — A 6-2 regular season for BGM in their first season back in 11-player is a great story.
The Bears shut out North Mahaska Friday at home, scoring all 40 of their points in the first half.
Beau Burns rushed for 185 yards and three TDs. Nathan Findlay added 102 yards and two scores.
Landon Hassett returned an interception for a TD defensively in the shutout.
English Valleys 80, Meskwaki 20
NORTH ENGLISH — English Valleys ended its season on a high note Friday with a convincing win over Meskwaki on senior night.
With a 5-3 finishing record, the Bears’ win total equaled that of the last two seasons combined.
Janesville 52, HLV-TC 8
VICTOR — It was all Janesville in this one, start to finish, as the Wildcats scored 52 points against the Warriors.
HLV-TC finished its season 1-7.
