Raiders head to regionals in Waukee

WILLIAMSBURG — Coming off a sixth-place finish in the North Central Conference meet Thursday, Oct. 23, the Williamsburg girls swimming team finished its final prep before regionals Monday at Ottumwa.
The Raiders won three events in the five-team field.
Selah Smith won the 50-yard freestyle and Shiloh Smith, the 500 freestyle, and the 200 medley relay team took first in 2:25.40.
Now the Raiders set their sights on regionals. They’ll head to Waukee Saturday.
Regional sites will take 32 entries in each event to the state meet. Some swimmers have already qualified and hit standard in individual events. All they have to do to qualify is to compete Saturday.
