The Williamsburg baseball team learned their postseason fate Wednesday as the Iowa High School Athletic Association released substate brackets in Classes 3A and 4A.
The Raiders will travel to face 3A No. 10 Benton Community Friday, July 11 in a first-round game in 3A Substate 8.
The 1A and 2A brackets were released last week.
The two WaMaC West opponents met earlier this season, with the Bobcats taking both games, 10-0, and 3-0.
Also on Wednesday, the Raiders resumed a doubleheader with Center Point-Urbana that was postponed during play Monday.
The Raiders pulled out 6-3 and 9-8 wins over the Stormin’ Pointers, the second game in extra innings.
In game one, Boston Altenhofen led the bats with two hits and RBIs. Carson Grier threw five scoreless innings from the mound.
Grier added three RBIs and a home run in game two, as the Raiders scored four in the top of the eighth to come away with the victory.
The two wins marked a three-game win streak for the Raiders and four of the last five.
