Raiders win 6 events in Marengo

MARENGO — The Raiders won five individual titles and the 4 x 400 relay during the boys Ruth Ahrens Invitational April 9 in Marengo.

No team scores were kept.

Derek Weisskopf won the discus (152-8) and shot put (53-2). Also winning gold: West Hulseberg (3,200), Clayten Steckly (100) and Rayce Hietman (200).

Among the Class B schools, the Tigers enjoyed their home track, winning all four of the speed relays, taking gold in the 4x100, 4x200, 4x400 and sprint medley.

Caleb Haack and Josh Read tied for the high jump title, and Nolan Kriegel won long jump for Iowa Valley. Haack won the 100 and 200, and Jeffrey Crawford won the 400.

Riley Simmons won shot put and discus for Belle Plaine. Sam DeMeulenaere took the 400 hurdles for the Plainesmen.

Gage Heyne won the open 800 for English Valleys, and the Bears also won the 4x800.
