Belle Plaine and Iowa Valley will face off Friday

Iowa Valley 74, HLV-TC 36
MARENGO — The Iowa Valley football team advanced to 7-0 on the season after scoring over 70 points for the sixth time in the season in a contest against HLV-TC Friday night.
Nolan Kriegel rushed for 178 yards and five touchdowns and threw for three touchdowns — two by Caleb Haack who broke 100 yards receiving.
The Tigers rushed for 334 yards as a team.
Dane Smith added a 70-yard kickoff return scoring wise.
Layne Peska had an interception for the Tigers’ defense, and Haack had four tackles for loss.
Cael Weisskop led the Warriors in rushing and receiving with 165 yards and two touchdowns.
“It was another solid win,” Iowa Valley head coach Casey Krull said. “I have to give a lot of credit to the way that HLV-TC played. There were times throughout the game where we were out played.”
The Warriors dropped to 1-7.
Belle Plaine 88, Twin Cedars 0
BELLE PLAINE — It was all Plainsmen in this one as the Belle Plaine football team crushed Twin Cedars Friday night.
The Plainsmen offense had quite the first half.
In seven offensive snaps, the Plainsmen scored seven touchdowns. They added a punt return for a touchdown and a pick-six.
Ty Alcott rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns on only three carries. Alcott also threw a 60-yard touchdown.
The win moved the Plainsmen to 6-1. Iowa Valley comes to town Friday to close out the regular season.
BGM 95, Melcher-Dallas 6
BROOKLYN — The Bears almost reached triple digits as the BGM football team lit up the scoreboard against Melcher-Dallas Friday night.
The Bears scored 41 in the first quarter alone.
Beau Burns threw for 296 yards and six touchdowns. Dakota Heisman led the team in receiving with 118 yards and two touchdowns.
Burns also added 140 yards rushing with three more touchdowns.
Tate Martin added a kick return for a touchdown, and Landen Cooling scored off a fumble.
The defense had 12 1/2 tackles for loss.
A win against Moravia Friday will clinch a playoff spot for the Bears.
Montezuma 55, Baxter 44
MONTEZUMA — After a 34-30 score at halftime, the Montezuma football team pulled away for an 11-point victory in a non-district game against Baxter Friday.
The Braves’ ground attack went for 328 yards. Brady Boulton led the charge with 239 yards and five touchdowns.
Boulton and Davis Rose had interceptions for the Braves’ defense.
The win puts the Braves at 7-1. Their final regular season game at Twin Cedars Friday.
WACO 60, English Valleys 12
NORTH ENGLISH — The English Valleys football team dropped to 1-6 on the season, falling to WACO Friday night.
The Bears scored all 12 of their points in the first half as the Warriors built a 47-12 lead.
The Warriors’ balanced offensive attack totaled seven touchdowns (four passing and three rushing).
The Bears will conclude their season Friday in a winnable game at New London Friday.
