WILLIAMSBURG — Raven Wolf Productions, at 2283 240th St., Williamsburg, will host two musical acts to finish out the month.
Switchback, the dynamic duo of Marty McCormack and Brian FitzGerald, will bring its unique blend of American roots and Celtic soul music to rural Williamsburg Friday, May 16 from 7-9 p.m.
Raven Wolf suggests a $20 donation to attend.
Sturtz will perform Wednesday, May 28 from 7-9 p.m. Sturtz’s music stands out with distinctive, soothing instrumental and vocal harmonies, says Raven Wolf in a press release.
NPR’s All Songs Considered described the band as “a reassuring breath of fresh air that pulls me back to simpler times."
The acoustic quartet — Andrew Sturtz (vocals, guitar), Courtlyn Carpenter (cello, harmonies), Will Kuepper (bass, harmonies), and Jim Herlihy (banjo, harmonies) — is serene and folksy, with melodic vocals soaring over the lower string instrumentals.
Sturtz released its debut album You’ve Done this Before in August 2021. When band members aren’t playing music, they’re probably milling flour, farming, lying in a creek or eating native foliage.
People are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks, and alcohol is allowed.
