WILLIAMSBURG — Raven Wolf Productions has lined up 18 acts from four different countries as it begins its fifth year.
Raven Wolf is days away from it’s first show of the season on its Hayloft stage, Kray Van Kirk comes to Iowa all the way from Alaska on the Midwest leg of his U.S. tour.
A finger-style guitarist with a precise baritone, Kray Van Kirk has a Ph.D. from the University of Alaska, but he set science aside to write songs, tell stories and summon heroes, Raven Wolf says in a press release.
"We are driven by myth and the seasons of the heart, and the stories are all true,“ says Van Kirk in the press release.
“There is a dark cave inside each of us, and monsters of all kinds lurk there, all the more lethal for being hidden. The quest is to journey inside, render the monsters powerless, find whatever it is that burns at the core of your soul and bring it back into the light.
“In a world divided it is critical to write songs and tell stories that show absolutely everyone they get to be the hero. Nobody is left behind."
Van Kirk will perform Thursday, April 10 from 6-8 p.m. Tickets cost $15. Raven Wolf Productions is located at 2283 240th St., Williamsburg.
Kris Angelis will perform in Williamsburg April 25 from 7-8:30 p.m. Raven Wolf met the singer-songwriter at a folk festival in Killarney Ireland and fell in love with her musicality and her voice, the organizers say.
“Kris is one of those rare talents who can transport you into the life of her song narrative,” says Raven Wolf in a press release. “She crafts pop tracks that are poppy enough for the mainstream but creative and ambitious enough to win over more audiences.”
Tickets for the show are $20.
Artists receive 100% of all ticket and merchandise sales to support them as they share their songs and talents with us all, Raven Wolf Productions says.
