Register by May 20 to vote in June primary
Apr. 29, 2024 12:42 pm
The voter registration deadline for the June 4 Primary Election is May 20.
Voters may also register at their precincts on Election Day if they’ve moved. Registering on Election Day requires proof of identity (such as a photo ID), proof of residency and signing an oath.
This process will take extra time at the polling place. Voters are encouraged to register by May 20 in the county auditor’s office.
Voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before they may receive and cast a ballot. Any voter who cannot show ID may have their identity attested to by another registered voter in the precinct who has proper ID.
For additional information about voter identification visit sos.iowa.gov/voterid or contact the Iowa County Auditor’s Office at 319-642-3923 Option #0.
Anyone wishing to vote absentee before Election Day may do so by stopping in the Auditor's Office Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. beginning May 15 or Saturday, June 1 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The last day that a voter can request a mailed absentee ballot will be May 20. Voter Registration and Absentee Ballot Request Forms are available by mail or on the county website, owacounty.iowa.gov.
Voting Equipment Testing will start Monday, May 13 at 10 a.m. at the East Courthouse Annex in Marengo.
Sample ballots for the Primary Election will be published the week of May 12 and are available at iowacounty.iowa.gov.
