Thank you to everyone who took time out of their evening to join our veterans telephone town hall with Chairman Mike Bost.
We took questions on veterans’ benefits and discussed the importance of ensuring that all veterans receive the care they have earned. If you are a veteran and need assistance with the VA, please reach out to one of my offices and we will do everything we can to help
I was joined by the President of Students for Life Action Kristan Hawkins to discuss how my Pregnant Students' Rights Act will help empower pregnant women on college campuses to finish their degrees while embracing motherhood.
Last week the Select Committee on the CCP held back-to-back hearings on the CCP's continued efforts to undermine U.S. national and cybersecurity.
During our first hearing of the week, I addressed national security concerns that have arisen following China inviting OPEC countries like the UAE, Iran, and Saudi Arabia to join the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, Iran, South Africa, and China) bloc.
This move will enable our foreign adversaries to control the lion's share of the world's oil production. This is especially concerning as the Biden Administration continues to limit U.S. energy production.
Our second hearing of the week focused on ways we can identify and combat cyber threats from the CCP as Chinese hackers are ramping up their ability to breach U.S. systems and disrupt our critical infrastructure.
I discussed my Defend Our Networks Act, legislation that funds the replacement of Chinese telecom equipment embedded in American networks. This will ensure all Americans, including those in rural areas, have secure, reliable, and private connectivity.
Our school nurses in Iowa go above and beyond to make sure every student is healthy, safe, and ready to learn. It was great to meet with the National Association of School Nurses to discuss ways we can continue to support school nurses while they take exceptional care of our students.
I enjoyed meeting with Iowa State University Student Government to discuss what’s in store for the Cyclones this semester. These student leaders are contributing so much to the ISU community and have bright futures ahead.
I met with CADCA to learn more about their efforts to combat substance abuse in our communities. We discussed how we can work together to prevent youth vaping and keep our communities drug-free.
