Brooklyn and Deep River children met with Santa this month to share their Christmas wish lists and have their photos taken.
In Brooklyn Dec. 6, Santa and Mrs. Claus met children at the Brooklyn Ruritan Club.
Santa took time to check if all the boys and girls had been good or bad. They were all good.
The Brooklyn Ruritan Club cooked pancakes, eggs, sausages and a variety of drinks at the event that morning.
“So much fun was had by all enjoying breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus at our annual Brooklyn Ruritan event,” said Rusty Clayton with the Ruritan Club. “Santa had the list and he was checking it twice.”
The cold weather may have slowed down area youngsters stopping to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Deep River American Legion Building Sunday, Dec. 14, but it was still a great day.
Youngsters had their photos taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus and received gift bags and free town money.
The event was hosted by the Deep River American Legion Auxiliary.
“We’re always thankful that Santa shows up with toys and goodies for all the kids that were naughty or nice,” said Jacki Bolen with the Deep River American Legion Auxiliary. “Santa is very forgiving and we love the chubby guy.”
