GRINNELL -- UnityPoint Health – Grinnell Public Health is hosting Unlocking Brain Fitness: Keys to Dementia Prevention, a program for people 55 and older.
KEYS is a 10-week course that addresses modifiable risk factors each week in a safe and supportive environment for learning and interaction. Topics will be presented by health and wellness experts including a dietitian, pharmacist and fitness professional – all of whom will offer individual, confidential sessions at the end of weekly courses.
Public Health is offering this program free of charge. Participants can reserve a spot in the course by calling 641-236-2385, option 2. Course size is limited to 15 participants per session.
Unlocking Brain Fitness: Keys to Dementia Prevention begins Thursday, Jan. 8, at UnityPoint Health – Grinnell Public Health, 306 Fourth Avenue in Grinnell.
The 10-week program meets Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. and covers key topics such as eating well, moving, being social, hearing well, staying sharp, sleeping enough, controlling chronic disease, building stress resilience, using right medications and promoting health.
