This week, I held my final telephone town hall of the year — and my 14th of this Congress.
Thank you to everyone who participated in these regular discussions to ask questions, share feedback, and discuss the issues that matter most to Iowa.
I will always be accessible to Iowans and work to connect with you as often as I can so that I can be your strongest advocate in Congress.
Iowans have made it clear to me — they are done with the failure and chaos under Biden and Harris and are ready for common sense, conservative leadership again. I'm so excited to work with President Trump to secure the border, reduce inflation and finally put America first.
During my telephone town hall this week, I asked listeners to share their top policy priorities with me. Check out the poll results below and read on for additional updates from this week.
Poll results
What is your top policy priority?
Securing the border: 43.3%
Tax cuts and reducing inflation: 27.8%
Unleashing American energy: 17.5%
America-first foreign policy: 11.3%
This week, we celebrated Rural Health Day. One of my top priorities in Congress is ensuring Iowans in rural areas have the same access to health care as those in urban areas.
While out in our district, I have seen firsthand the work our health care providers do every day to ensure Iowans can access quality health care — especially maternal care.
From securing funding to expand maternity health care units and introducing legislation that increases the number of trained midwives to having my legislation to expand access to stillbirth prevention resources signed into law, I am proud of all we have accomplished to ensure more moms can have more healthy babies.
While we have made great progress, there is still more work to be done. I will continue working to ensure all Iowans — especially Iowa moms — have access to the best possible care
I am proud to have secured federal funds to build a new workforce training center for the Four Mounds Foundation’s Housing Education and Rehabilitation Training Building Dubuque Program. This will create new skills-based learning opportunities for Iowa students.
This investment will not only give individuals the tools they need to succeed in the workforce but also to assist in redeveloping low-income housing through renovation projects that put students’ new skills to use. This will ultimately benefit the entire region’s economic development and foster opportunities for working families.
