Seeing Santa

Children in Marengo stepped into the cold Thursday evening for hugs and gifts from Santa and the Compass Memorial Healthcare Staff. Though the temperature hovered around 12 degrees, some children left their houses without shoes or socks and others ran an entire block to see their favorite man in red as he traveled the streets in a sleigh blaring Christmas music. Santa will conclude his tour of towns in North English Dec. 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. (Photos by Winona Whitaker)
