WILLIAMSBURG -- A special election to determine use of State funding by the Williamsburg Community School District is set for Tuesday, March 5.
Residents must register by Feb. 19 to vote in the special election or bring proof of identity and proof of residence to the polls to register Election Day. Residents who have moved since they registered should update their addresses.
Voters will decide the use of revenue Williamsburg schools receive through the Secure an Advanced Vision for Education fund. Residents of the school district may cast ballots between 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wiliamsburg Recreation Center, 939 S. Highland St. in Williamsburg.
Voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before they receive and cast a ballot. Voters who are not registered or who have changed precincts may be required to provide proof of residence.
Voters who cannot show ID may have their identities attested to by another registered voter in the precinct who has proper ID.
