Raiders advance to Regional final

The Williamsburg softball team coasted to a 4-0 win over Centerville Saturday to advance to the Regional final and a trip to state Tuesday.

The Raiders will host Chariton, after their 6-4 victory over Albia.

Alley Gorsh had two RBIs and Jersey Metz threw a shutout seven innings.

The Raiders defeated Davis County, 4-1, in their first round game Thursday.

Carly Rich had two RBIs and Metz pitched a complete game allowing only one hit.

Finn, Hughes set program records

A few program records were broken this season by current Raider softball players. Shannon Finn set new program record in career runs (185) and hits (226) following the conclusion of the regular season.

Makenna Hughes also set a single-season record with 45 stolen bases.

Several players reached milestones the season. Taylor Pitlick and Hughes reached 100 career hits and Jersey Metz eclipsed 40 career wins and 200 strikeouts.
