Tigers fall in home opener
MARENGO — The Iowa Valley girls’ basketball team dropped its home opener 56-47 against West Branch Tuesday night.
The Tigers were down 16 after a quarter and fought back to make the final difference single digit.
Lydia Kriegel led the team with 23 points. Myla Frimml also hit double digits with 13.
Lint goes 3-0 at Marhsalltown Quad
MARSHALLTOWN — Amiah Lint went 3-0 in her matches in the 115-pound division for the BGM girls’ wrestling team at the Marshalltown Quad Tuesday night.
Lint pinned Marshalltown’s Allanna Robinson, West Marshall's’s Ellie Andrews and Benton’s Courtney Hlas all in the first period.
Shyla VanNevel and Taya Sincox also finished 3-0 in their weight classes, but the Bears dropped all three team dual matches.
VanNevel won the 125 weight class at the Belle Plaine girls’ invitational Saturday.
