St. Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church to celebrate 25th anniversary

St. Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, was established March 23, 1998. Instead of holding its 25th anniversary celebration during the Lenten season, the congregation chose to celebrate the church’s founding, as well as the dedication of the church building — originally dedicated June 22, 2002 — with a combined anniversary and dedication celebration on Sunday, June 25.

The event will begin with a Divine Service with Communion at 9 a.m., with the observance of the dedication of St. Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church. Christian fellowship and refreshments will follow. Adult Bible class and Sunday school will begin at 10:45 a.m. and will be a time of remembering and reflecting on God’s mercy and the grace He has bestowed through the years.

A congregational anniversary ham and scalloped potato dinner will begin at noon. RSVPs via phone to (319) 903-6175 are requested.

A special anniversary worship service will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen Schmidt of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Litchfield, Ill., preaching. The special 25th anniversary offering will be collected in the afternoon worship service. A special envelope will be available at St. Timothy in the foyer for all who wish to participate.
