‘STAGES’ comes to Amana

AMANA -- TKM Theatrical Productions is sponsoring the Iowa premiere of STAGES by Jonesy McElroy at The Amana Performing Arts Center, Saturday, April 20.
The Center, located at 39 38th Avenue in Amana, will show episode one of an original miniseries about theater and the many characters behind the curtain.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at tkmtheatricalproductions.com or by contacting deborahkennedy@live.com.
The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a directors reception where ticket-holders can meet the writer and director and cast. The event will be catered by Ox Yoke Inn.
At 7 p.m., a backstage tour begins. The miniseries begins at 7:30 p.m.
McElroy and the cast will meet with guests at a campfire in the courtyourd at 8:15 p.m.
Born and raised in Iowa, McElroy began his theatrical career at 16, as an intern for the Old Creamery Theater Co., according to a press release from TKM.
After receiving his bacelor’s degree in cinema and literature from the University of Iowa, McElroy moved to Los Angeles, where he spent the last 20 years working in the film and television industry, lighting photography sets for ABC Television shows such as “Dancing with the Stars,” “The Bachelor” and The Bachelorette.
McElroy is also an independent lighting designer and director for several well-known brands, such as AT&T, United Airlines and Samsung mobile.
