CARROLL — The annual State Coed golf tournament wrapped up play earlier today in both the Class 1A and 2A divisions.
Several Hometown Current area schools had participants in this year’s event held at Carroll National Golf Course.
The event allowed for up to two boy-girl entries per school. Williamsburg, HLV and English Valleys each had two duos compete in the Class 1A event.
“State coed is always a fun event to end the year with and is a great way to celebrate our boys and girls seasons,” Williamsburg boys’ golf coach Brad Schaefer said.
The highest finishing area team was the Williamsburg duo of Rubi Allison and Crew Klingner who finished tied for 13th with a score of 81.
Jaisel and Cooper Bott, the other Raider duo, finished tied for 16th with a score of 83.
Bott and Allison were both on the team for the Raiders that competed at the girls’ State meet in Cedar Falls two weeks ago.
English Valleys’ two participating duos were Nicole Murphy-Eli Marsh (T40th) and Jaidyn Rugg-Gage Heyne (T50th). They shot scores of 94 and 98 to finish off their seasons.
Heyne, who had a stellar track season, competed in both track and golf simultaneously in the spring.
HLV’s two duos were McKenzie Kempf-Peyton Roth (T36th) and Kaylee York-Ethan Licht (T54th). They shot scores of 93 and 103.
