State Patrol identifies crash victim

MARENGO — The Iowa State Patrol has identified the victim of a fatal car accident at Highway 6 and N Avenue east of Marengo last week.

Kyla M. Klima, 35, of Marengo, died after her Ford Fusion was struck by a semi-trailer driven by Kile D. Knipfer, 35, of North English.

Names were withheld after the crash pending notification of relatives.

A 7-year-old passenger was injured and taken to Compass Memorial Healthcare in Marengo. A 1-year-old was also injured and was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

According to the crash report, Klima was northbound on N Avenue about 8:14 a.m. Monday, March 11 and, after stopping, pulled onto Highway 6 in front of the semi, which struck the car on the driver’s side.
