Students receive American Legion scholarships

The Benton County American Legions and Auxiliaries awarded scholarships this week to students throughout the county.
Legion scholarships were awarded to Luke Lange, Atkins Post, Benton Community High School; Kayla Lennie, Keystone Post, Benton Community High School; Ty Alcott, Belle Plaine Post, Belle Plaine High School; and Danielle Werning, Blairstown Post, Benton Community High School.
Also Dakota Cornell, Shellsburg Post, Vinton-Shellsburg High School; and Emma Barge, Van Horne Post, Benton Community High School.
American Legion Auxiliary Merit awards went to Kyla Shaull, Belle Plaine, Belle Plaine High School; Danielle Werning, Blairstown Unit, Vinton-Shellsburg High School; Hayden Bange, Keystone Unit, Benton Community High School; Ashlyn Franck, Van Horne Unit, Benton Community High School; and lzzie Birker, Vinton Unit, Vinton-Shellsburg High School.
