Summer reading program brings raptors, cartoonist, snakes to Amana

AMANA — Amana Community Library’s summer reading program has begun, and children can look forward to many programs at the library during the next two months.
The Iowa Raptor Project will return this year, bringing birds of prey to the library Tuesday, June 17 at 10 a.m.
Cartoonist Buck Jones returns with his silly drawings for a kid-friendly art adventure Thursday, June 26 at 10 a.m.
Scott Koepke, with East Central Iowa Council of Governments, will talk to children about positively impacting the environment and the community Monday, June 30 at 10 a.m.
Iowa County Naturalist Mary Blair will teach children about snakes and amphibians Friday, July 11 at 10 a.m.
Toby Kid’s Silly Adventures will provide a show packed with laughs, magic and kid-friendly silliness Thursday, July 17 at 1 p.m.
Sushi the Skunk will visit the library Friday, July 25 at 10 a.m.
The programs are free. Amana Community Chest provided funding to help make these programs possible.
