Telephone meeting set for Feb. 28
By Rep. Ashley Hinson
Feb. 24, 2024 2:13 pm
Connecting with you and hearing your thoughts is my top priority as your representative. I will be holding my next telephone town hall on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m. to share an update on my recent work in Congress and answer your questions.
I hope you can join. Call 833-364-1469 to join the meeting.
Energy
President Biden recently dealt another blow to American energy by banning U.S. liquefied natural gas exports. This shortsighted, politically motivated move will jeopardize American jobs, undermine our national security and send a message that America is no longer a reliable energy partner.
I recently voted to reverse Biden's LNG export ban, but I want you to weigh in. Take my poll and let me know your thoughts on this move by President Biden.
Naturalization
It was an honor to join the naturalization ceremony in Cedar Rapids and witness 54 legal immigrants take the Oath of Citizenship.
I'm proud of these new Americans for working hard and seeing the naturalization process through. I can’t wait to see them achieve their American dream.
Neily
Last week, I was joined by the President of Parents Defending Education, Nicki Neily, for a conversation on the importance of protecting girls’ sports for girls and ensuring parents have a voice in their children's education
Health centers
Iowa Community Health Centers go above and beyond to ensure Iowans can access the care they need, regardless of ZIP code or income level.
I am proud to have received their Distinguished Community Health Center Advocate Award and look forward to working together to expand health care services for Iowans.
Meeting the public
General Randy George has made his hometown of Alden and all of Iowa proud as the Chief of Staff of the Army. It was great to see him and thank him for his distinguished service to our country.
Thanks to the Alliance for Childhood Cancer team for their passionate advocacy on behalf of every child and family who bears the pain of a childhood cancer diagnosis. Together, we can improve research and find cures for horrible diseases that take young lives too soon.
I met with the Iowa Alliance of YMCAs to hear an update on their programming in Iowa and efforts to support Iowa kids and families. I will continue working to invest in early childhood education and programs that help our littlest Iowans thrive
I enjoyed meeting with local officials with the Iowa State Association of Counties. We discussed federal initiatives and programs that will help keep Iowa the best place to live, work, and raise a family
