Iowa County’s revenue totaled $30,205,287 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, a 26.9% increase from the prior year, according to a press release from Terpstra Hoke & Associates.
The significant increase in revenues was the result of capital grants totally $5,047,556 received through the State of Iowa.
Expenses for County operations totaled $22,000,889, a 2.1% increase from the prior year.
Auditors reported four findings related to the receipt and expenditure of taxpayer funds in the Schedule of Findings and Questioned Costs of this report, the press release says.
The County was provided with recommendations to address the findings.
A copy of the audit report is available for review in the County Auditor’s office and on the Auditor of State’s website: auditor.iowa.gov/audit-reports.
