Three candidates vie for Amana positions

MARENGO — Absentee voting in person is set up at the Iowa County Auditor’s office for the Oct. 3 Amana Colonies Land Use District trustees election.
The office, in the East Courthouse Annex at 970 Court Ave. in Marengo, is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Voting on Election Day will take place from noon to 8 p.m. at the Middle Amana Fire Station.
Three candidates have filed for the three open positions: Emilie L. Hoppe and incumbents Norine Magee and Joseph D. Parcell. Filing deadline was Sept. 8
The Amana trustees election is conducted every year. Each term is three years.
Voter registration for the election ended Sept. 18. Voters who did not register by that date and voters changing precincts must provide identification and proof of residence to vote.
A resident who does not have an approved form of identification or proof of residence may have another registered voter in the precinct attest to the ID or residence, may prove identity or residence by using Election Day Registration documents or may cast a provisional ballot and provide proof by noon Thursday, Oct. 5.
