Tigers compete at Belle Plaine Invite

The Iowa Valley High School boys and girls track teams competed in the co-ed Belle Plaine Invitational on April 24.
The girls’ team placed 4th with 56 points in the 10-team field. Lydia Kriegel placed first in the shot put with a throw of 33’7”and second place in the discus 102’. Hannah Ryan placed 2nd in the 800 M run with a time of 2.49.47 and ran on the winning 4x800M relay team with Kathryn Kilgard, Grace Ryan and Ella Read with a time of 11.02.51.
The 4x200M relay team of Claire Smolik, Lola Frimmil, Lydia Kriegel and Ella Read placed 3rd with a time of 2.03.92. The 4x400M relay team of Grace Ryan, Hannah Ryan, Michaela Schachtlie and Ella Read placed 4th at 4.48.07. The 4x100M relay team of Claire Smolik, Hailey Dietze, Lola Frimml and Lydia Kriegel placed 5th with time of 59.49.
Kathryn Kilgard placed 4th in the 1500 m run (6.14.83). Michaela Schachtlie was 5th in the long jump at 13’9.” The 1600 m medley relay team of Kylie Loffer, Aniah Morse, Kathryn Kilgard and Michaela Schachtlie place 5th at 5.19.88.
The boys’ team place 2nd with 114 points in the nine-team field. Clayton Kinzenbaw placed 1st in the 100 M dash with 11.62 seconds time. Caleb Haack won the 200 m dash at 23.63 seconds. Kinzenbaw, Haack, Pierce Kienitz and Evan Kearney won both the 4x100M relay at 44.76 time and 4x200M relay at 1.34.05 time.
Second place finishes included Jeffrey Crawford in the 400 m dash (54.19), Taite Peach in the 800 m run (2.21.04), Garrett Hoyt in the discus throw (112’10.5”) and Caleb Haack in the high jump (6’). Third place finishers were Karter Thiessen in the 400 m dash (56.27), Ayden Hollister in 3200 m run (12.21.96), Josh Read in the high jump (5’10”) and the distance medley (4.04.08) consisting of Caden Knapp, Aiden Rabe, Carter Hassenbroek & Taite Peach.
Fourth place finishers were Pierce Kienitz in the 100 m (12.19), Jeremy Crawford, Carter Hassenbroek, Ian Smith and Owen Ary in the 4x400M relay (4.07.15) and Josh Read in the high hurdles (18.30). Fifth place finishes were the 800 m medley (1.43.81) team of Caden Knapp, Aiden Rabe, Josh Read and Jeffrey Crawford, and Josh Read in the 400 m hurdles (1.02.78).
Sixth places were earned by Garrett Hoyt in the shot put (35’2”) and Ayden Hollister in the 1600 m, (5.52.88).
