Clinch 8-player District 6 title

Iowa Valley 72, Winfield-Mt. Union 30
WINFIELD — The Iowa Valley football team rolled past the Wolves to clinch the 8-player District 6 title, remaining undefeated on the season.
“We played a complete game in all three phases,” Iowa Valley head coach Casey Krull said.
Nolan Kriegel had another monster performance, rushing for 310 yards and seven touchdowns. Kriegel also added two passing touchdowns.
“Our offensive line did a great job of opening up holes and protecting our quarterback on pass plays,” Krull said.
Kriegel now leads the state in total touchdowns (38), rushing touchdowns (24) and is fifth in rushing yards (1226).
Dane Smith had two catches, both for long touchdowns.
Defensively, the Tigers racked up 12 tackles for loss.
“We were led by Chance Hoyt and Caleb Haack,” Krull said. “Each of these guys piled up the tackles and made big stops when we needed them.”
Now 6-0, the Tigers will host HLV-TC Friday night.
Williamsburg 54, Fairfield 12
WILLIAMSBURG — The Grant Hocker-Rayce Heitman connection might just be the most lethal duo in all the state.
The Williamsburg football team rolled to another big victory Friday night over Fairfield.
Four of the five passing touchdowns from Hocker were to Heitman who had 194 yards receiving on the night.
Nile Sinn added 85 yards rushing with a touchdown.
The Raiders’ defense totaled 13.5 tackles for loss on the night.
Grant Hocker continues to lead the state in passing touchdowns (29) and is third in yards (1575).
Rayce Heitman, for the second straight week, leads the state in receiving touchdowns (16) and is now the leader is receiving yards (746).
The Raiders’ prolific passing attack will be put to the test as Solon comes to town Friday night.
HLV-TC 58, Twin Cedars 8
VICTOR — The Warriors got their first victory of the season Friday night, winning big over Twin Cedars.
“It was a good win for the kids. They needed that,“ HLV-TC head coach Kevin Smith said. ”It was our most complete game of the season.“
Keegan Gorsh threw three touchdowns, and the Cael Weisskopf-Hunter Bazyn duo led the charge rushing.
Each rushed for over 90 yards and two touchdowns.
Weisskopf also added two receiving touchdowns, and Sean McCulloch had a 70 yard catch.
“This was our most balanced game offensively and was more the way we like to see it,” Smith said.
The Warriors are now 1-6 on the season with their next game upcoming against Iowa Valley.
Colo-Nesco 42, English Valleys 20
COLO — The English Valleys football team fell to 1-5 on the season after falling to the Royals Friday night.
The Bears will face WACO this Friday.
Gladbrook-Reinbeck 48, BGM 6
REINBECK — The BGM football team faced the seventh-ranked Gladbrook-Reinbeck Rebels in a non-district match-up Friday night.
The Bears fell to 2-4 on the season.
Wins against Melcher-Dallas and Moravia to end the season would clinch a playoff spot for the Bears.
