AMANA -- TKM Theatrical Productions is offering a new camp for students students 12 and older.
Spotlight Showcase is a five-day, intermediate youth theater camp that focuses on well-known classic and beloved musical theater scenes, songs, and dances, said TKM in a press release.
Space is limited to allow for one-on-one time with the students.
The journey begins with orientation Sunday, June 15, from 6-7:30 p.m. Students will meet the counselors and fellow campers, and counselors will get to know the students.
Counselors will ask students to sing songs they are familiar with, either a capella or with their own accompaniment tracks.
If a child would rather just act or dance, that’s OK, says TKM. Counselors will be measuring each student's comfort levels.
Camp will take place June 16-20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Amana Performing Arts Center, 39 38th Ave, Amana. A light lunch and nut-free snacks will be provided..
At the end of the week the students will act, sing and dance for their families, friends of the community. The performance will take place June 20 at 7 p.m. at The Amana Performing Arts Center.
Registration for the came is $150 per student. Visit tkmtheatricalproductions.com to sign up. A youth camp T-shirt and 2 tickets to the final performance are included with registration.
