PARNELL — Author and teacher Dr. Jamie Pitts will speak on the theme "Trinity God" during spiritual emphasis meetings at West Union Mennonite Church, rural Parnell, Oct. 25-26.
Meetings will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, 9:30 a.m. Sunday during the worship hour, and at 10:45 a.m. during the education hour following.
Christians say they believe that God is the Trinity. What does this mean and does it make a difference for us and our world? In workshops and a sermon, Pitts will explore these questions with the goal of connecting this central Christian teaching with life as a follower of Jesus, according to a press release from the church.
The public is welcome to attend.
Pitts teaches and conducts research on global Anabaptist-Mennonite theology and history at Anabaptist Mennonite biblical Seminary. He is also the editor of Anabaptist Witness journal and directs the Institute of Mennonite Studies at AMBS.
