WILLIAMSBURG — A pickup truck rear-ended a car on South Highland Street in Williamsburg June 17 causing minor injuries to the drivers.
Williamsburg police report that Landon David Wade, 43, of Homestead, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on South Highland Street near the intersection of WRM Dr., in Williamsburg about 10:20 a.m.
Zanielle Kay Johnson, 21, of Brooklyn was stopped in traffic in a 2013 Ford Fusion, waiting to turn east into the Super Suds Car Wash parking lot. According to the collision report, Johnson told police that she had to yield to about four vehicles on South Highland Street before making her turn.
Wade said he saw someone he knew to the west in the J and S Farm Supply parking lot, and he waved. He rear-ended the Fusion, causing significant damage to the rear bumper, trunk, and tail lights, the report says.
The Silverado sustained some cosmetic damage to the front bumper, and grill and appeared to be leaking some antifreeze.
Both Wade and Johnson complained of pain but neither was transported, says the report.
Wade was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.
