UnityPoint offers tips for life with baby

GRINNELL — UnityPoint Health — Grinnell Regional Medical Center hospital and clinics will begin offering Life with Baby, the postpartum support and peer connection group, the first and third TuesdayS of each month beginning Nov. 4.

This change in schedule was made following a stakeholder survey to better meet the needs of attendees and the health care experts facilitating the group.

The Life with Baby program meets from 5 — 6:30 p.m. in the Tomasek Conference Room at Grinnell Regional. Life with Baby is geared for caregivers and their infants from newborn to one year of age.

The come-and-go atmosphere offers peer and professional support, including a chance to connect with a health care expert, such as a midwife, obstetrics provider or certified lactation specialist.

Questions and concerns will be addressed. and resources will be offered for newborn care, postpartum recovery, immunizations and successful breast or bottle feeding support.

Baby weight checks will be offered at each session.

Attendees should enter the hospital through the main entrance on the south side of the building and follow the signs to the Tomasek Conference Room on the first floor. No registration is required.
