UnityPoint opens behavioral health clinic

Telemedicine aids mental health needs in the Grinnell area
GRINNELL--UnityPoint Health–Grinnell announced this week the establishment of a behavioral health telemedicine service.
The new service is located at the new Behavioral Health Clinic on the third floor of the Ahrens Medical Arts Building, 202 Fourth Ave. in Grinnell, adjacent to Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
Margot Duchowny will join the UnityPoint team as a telemedicine provider for patients ages 12 years and older. Duchowny’s mental health services include consultations, counseling and medication management.
Duchowny will provide telemedicine therapy and counseling sessions and psych medication management in the areas of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions, trauma, medical co-morbidities, health diversity issues including LGBTQ+ care, postpartum support, substance use and addiction, the hospital said.
Duchowny received her undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and her graduate degree from Florida International University. She is certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Duchowny has experience in psychiatric crisis, consultation liaison and outpatient psychiatric interventions.
The Grinnell Behavioral Health Clinic will offer telemedicine appointments in the clinic Mondays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning June 24.
Established UnityPoint Health patients and non-UnityPoint Health patients may schedule an appointment at the clinic. No referral is needed.
