During the recent VP debate, JD Vance peddled falsehoods about his and Trump’s record, masking their harmful policies with smooth talk.
On abortion, Vance dodged questions about his support for a national ban, something he and Trump have both endorsed. His refusal to address this issue reveals the danger they pose to reproductive rights.
Vance also misled viewers about Trump’s economic policies, ignoring the reality that Trump’s tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy and corporations did little for working families and his tariff plans will raise prices for working families.
Vance echoed Trump’s nativist rhetoric, pushing for extreme anti-immigration policies, while refusing to denounce family separation at the border.
Regarding Haitian immigrants in Springfield Ohio, Vance told a multilayered lie: the border isn’t “open,” the vice president isn’t responsible for the nation’s immigration laws and Springfield’s Haitian immigrants entered the country legally.
They are not illegal aliens.
Despite Vance’s polished style, his agenda mirrors Trump’s: both cater to big corporations, seek to dismantle healthcare, attack women’s rights and spread lies about the 2020 election and Jan. 6.
Vance’s smooth delivery can’t hide the truth — he and Trump offer nothing but harm for working families. And if we want to live in a country where facts and the truth matter, it’s imperative that we vote for the Harris/Walz ticket.
