The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA) has made its all-state selections for the 2023 season and among the players honored in Class 2A were Williamsburg’s Madox Doehrmann and Nile Sinn.
Doehrmann, a senior, was a first-team pick in the outfield and Sinn, a sophomore, was a second-team selection at third base.
This marks the third straight year Williamsburg has had a first-team all-state selection. Jake Weber made the first team last year and Levi Weldon did in 2021.
Doehrmann carried a .342 batting average for the Raiders with 38 hits in 111 at bats, including eight doubles, one triple and three home runs. He drove in 21 runs, had 21 stolen bases, scored 28 times and drew a team-high 30 walks. His fielding percentage was .974 with only one error in 38 chances.
Sinn hit .363 (49-135) with 17 doubles, one triple, one home run, 22 RBI and 33 runs scored. His average, total hits and doubles all were team highs, and his 33 runs scored shared team-high honors. He had a .910 fielding percentage with nine errors in 100 chances.
In addition to their all-state honors, Doehrmann and Sinn were named to the IHSBCA All-Southeast District first team. Joining them on the first team was Raider senior Sam Rich. Williamsburg senior Trey O’Neil was a second-team selection.
HLV junior Max Henstorf made the Class 1A All-Southeast District first team, and Iowa Valley sophomore Caleb Haack made the second team.
