Weisskopf leads Raiders in 2nd-place finish

The Williamsburg boys’ track team finished second at the Wamac Invitational May 2, in Marion. The Raiders girls finished fifth.

Solon won the boys side with 123.5 points. Williamsburg had 93 points, topping Clear Creek Amana (88).

Dereek Weisskopf continued to lead the way with a first place finish in the high jump and discus, and a third-place finish in the shot put.

The only other gold medal event for the Raiders was the 4x400, which included the foursome of Braylon Wetjen, Clayten Steckly, Grant Hocker, and Rayce Heitman.

The Raider girls only had one winner, Ava Hocker claimed the title in the 400, finishing in 58.10 seconds.

Mount Vernon won the girls title with 165 points, followed by Solon (152). Williamsburg had 65 points.
