Weisskopf named to ISPWA all-state first team

For the second straight year, Williamsburg’s Derek Weisskopf has been named to the Iowa Sports Print Writers Association (ISPWA) Class 3A all-state first team.

A 6-4 junior, Weisskopf averaged a team-best 19.2 points and 8.4 rebounds a game while leading the Raiders to an 18-5 overall record and back-to-back titles in the WaMaC Conference with a 14-1 mark. He also led Williamsburg with 72 assists, ranked second with 43 steals and blocked 11 shots.

Earlier, Weisskopf was named to the All-Substate 7 first-team and he was a repeat choice as WaMaC West Division Player of the Year after leading the division in scoring and rebounding.
