WILLIAMSBURG — On Tuesday, Nov. 4, voters in the Williamsburg Community School District considered a $7.945 million bond proposal to fund the district’s Learning for Life Project.
Unofficial results indicate an approval rating of 46%, well short of the required 60% + 1 threshold for approval.
The proposed bond would have funded several key improvements:
•A new Career and Technical Education addition, focusing on ag education and industrial technology
•Renovation of the existing CTE space
•A new Family and Consumer Science area featuring a commercial kitchen
•Renovations to special education spaces
•Additional paved parking
We are grateful to everyone who participated in the voting process and engaged in conversations about the future of our schools.
While the outcome is not what we had hoped for, our commitment to providing high-quality, future-ready learning environments remains unchanged. We will continue to explore opportunities to support our students and strengthen our community.
I know the communities of Williamsburg, Conroy, Parnell and Holbrook place high value on our school system, and we appreciate the support they provide to us daily.
The district will evaluate next steps and continue to keep the community informed through our district website.
