Williamsburg boys record 3 shutout wins

Three more shutout wins last week boosted the record of the Williamsburg boys' soccer
team to 12-3.
VINTON-SHELLSBURG
Coach Ryan Sauser's Raiders opened the week on the road Monday, May 8, with
1-0 overtime victory against Vinton-Shellsburg.
Williamsburg attempted 15 shots on goal, but scored just once off the foot of senior Braden Brown.
Raiders goalkeeper Logan Rethwisch had five saves.
WEST DELAWARE
Four goals by sophomore Mason Eggelston carried Williamsburg to a 7-0 win over West Delaware Tuesday, May 9, at Manchester.
Brown, Caleb Mohr and Braden Yelland added goals and Connor Westcott contributed two assists.
CEDAR VALLEY CHRISTIAN
After three straight road contests, Williamsbiurg returned home Friday, May 12, and looked strong in a 10-0 cakewalk past Cedar Valley Christian.
Brown had five goals and two assists, and Eggelston three and one to power the Raiders.
Daniel Dietze and Brayson Doehrmann added goals, and Christian Sigala provided two assists. Rethwisch had three saves.
Williamsburg has now shutout seven opponents this season and won its last five matches in a row. They open postseason play at home Monday, May 22, in Substate 4 second-round action against Benton Community or Anamosa.
