Williamsburg library wants bee friends

WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg Public Library will present "Bee-ing Friends to Pollinators“ Thursday, Oct. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
Presented by the Master Gardeners of Iowa County, this workshop will provide attendees with expert instruction on best practices for attracting pollinators to their flower beds.
Residents will learn about the benefits of pollination and how to create a pollinator-friendly environment in their own gardens.

On Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6:30 p.m., the Williamsburg Public Library will host a special evening with Iowa author Roberta Hartling Gates.
The event will take place in the library’s cozy fireplace area, where Gates will discuss her book, “Number 12 Rue Sainte-Catherine and Other Stories.”
This compelling collection of historical fiction examines the life of a notorious Gestapo chief, tracing his troubled childhood in Germany, his rise in the Nazi regime and his eventual arrest and trials.
The book offers a gripping narrative that delves into the complexities of power, history, and morality.
Attendees are encouraged to read the book beforehand and join Gates for a captivating conversation about her work.
