Williamsburg players make 1st team All-State

Two Williamsburg softball players were named to All-State first team by the Iowa Girls’ Coaches Association.

Shannon Finn, a senior, and Jersey Metz, a sophomore, who helped their team to a second consecutive state championship in July, were named to the first team in Class 3A.

Alley Gorsh, a junior, and McKenna Hughes, a junior, made second team.

Coach Adam Berte also received the Class 3A Coach of the year award following the Raiders winning their second consecutive State Championship.

In Class 1A, four Hometown Current Area players received honors:

Second team: Kennedy Axmear, sr., English Valleys

Third team: Ayla Hall, jr., HLV; Lydia Kriegel, jr., Iowa Valley

Honorable mention: Delaney Hall, sr., English Valleys
