Williamsburg Public Library offers amnesty
Dec. 28, 2023 7:07 pm
WILLIAMSBURG -- Did you finally find those missing books pushed underneath the sofa? To celebrate the new year, Williamsburg Public Library will allow patrons to return overdue books in January without a fine.
Patrons must come inside the library and return overdue books in good condition and clear fees from their accounts.
Patrons with overdue fees on their accounts for materials that were returned late are eligible to have those fees waived.
Lost items, inter-library loans and damaged items are not eligible for amnesty.
From 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, the library will host Puzzle Palooza. Teams of 2-6 people will race to see who can finish a puzzle. The event is free.
Teams must sign up by Jan. 22 to participate. Patrons can bring their own beverages and snacks.
The library will conduct a puzzle swap to celebrate National Puzzle Day Monday, Jan. 29. The swap will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
To participate, bring a puzzle in good condition to swap. The puzzle must have all necessary pieces and a box or container with a picture of the puzzle.
