Williamsburg Red Sox conclude season with IABA State title

The Williamsburg Red Sox concluded their season Sunday night making it all the way to the IABA State title game.

The Red Sox defeated the Quad City 76ers 2-1 to take home the title.

On Saturday, the Red Sox defeated the Watkins Mudhens 8-7 to advance to the semifinals.

Trey O’Neil had the win on the mound and Casey Ogden with the save. The Thurman Brothers and Dan Rogers all homered for the Red Sox.

In the Sunday semifinal against the Norway Bandits, the Red Sox won by a big margin in a 12-4 victory and the championship game was played shortly after.

The Red Sox end the season also as Iowa Valley league champions as well.

Sam Rich and O’Neil will now prepare for their sophomore collegiate seasons. Rich at Simpson College and O’Neil at Southeastern Community College.
