Terpstra Hoke and Associates, P.C., certified public accountants, released an audit report on Williamsburg Community School District in Williamsburg this week.
A copy of the audit report is available for review in the District Secretary’s office and on the Auditor of State’s website, auditor.iowa.gov/audit-reports.
The Williamsburg District's revenues totaled $23,445,947 for the fiscal year ending June 30, a 10.5% increase from the prior year, according to a press release from Terpstra Hoke and Associates.
Expenses for District operations totaled $19,268,886, a 1.5% increase from the prior year.
The significant increase in revenues is due primarily to the contribution of an athletics performance center and associated equipment, the press release said.
The auditor reported two findings related to the receipt and expenditure of taxpayer funds. They are found in the Schedule of Findings and Questioned Costs of this report.
The District was provided with recommendations to address each of the findings. Both of the findings discussed above are repeated from the prior year.
