Williamsburg will host in Class 2A district wrestling

Teams already knew what towns were Iowa high school boys’ wrestling district sites, but now they know where their headed.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association released district assignments Friday morning after approval from the Board of Control.

Districts for all three classes will be held Saturday, Feb. 15. Twenty-four wrestlers will qualify at each weight class in all three classes.

Class 1A and 2A will have 12 district sites. The top two at each weight-class will qualify for state.

Class 3A will have eight sites, and the top three at each will advance.

Williamsburg will host in Class 2A.

In 1A, Belle Plaine, HLV-TC and Montezuma will travel to Colfax-Mingo.

BGM and Iowa Valley are headed to Pleasantville and English Valleys will travel to Wilton.

Teams: Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, Knoxville, Mediapolis, Mid-Prairie, Mount Pleasant, Solon Washington, Williamsburg

Class 1A: District 1

At Colfax-Mingo

Teams: Baxter, Belle Plaine, Colfax-Mingo, HLV, Jesup, Lisbon, Lynnville-Sully, Montezuma, Moravia, Pekin

Class 1A: District 7

At Pleasantville

Teams: Alburnett, BGM, Cardinal, Iowa Valley, North Mahaska, Pleasantville, Sigourney-Keota, Van Buren County, WACO, Wapello

Class 1A: District 12

At Wilton

Teams: Durant, English Valleys, Highland, Lone Tree, Louisa-Muscatine, New London, Northeast, Regina Catholic, Springville, West Branch, Wilton
