DES MOINES — Williamsburg’s Simeon Armbrecht was one of four Iowa high school seniors who received Iowa Bankers Association Student Athlete Achievement Awards during the Iowa High School Boys Basketball State Tournament championships in Des Moines.
Iowa Bankers Association awarded a $1,000 scholarship to one student from each state tournament class during the March 8 championships.
Corder Noun Harder, from Lynnville-Sully High School, received the Class 1A scholarship. Karson Elwood, of Treynor High School, received the scholarship in Class 2A, and Jaden Jones, of Dallas Center-Grimes High School, received the Class 4A award.
Scholarship recipients are selected each year based on their academic performance, athletic participation, leadership skills and community involvement, the Iowa Bankers Association said.
The Association has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships since the program began.
