Wrestlers return for homecoming

MARENGO — The Iowa Valley Homecoming parade will feature a float of former state wrestling champions from Iowa Valley.

Returning athletes include Mike McGivern (1972), Dave Smith (1973), Reo Straw (1979), Chad Dietze (1986-87), Tracy Dietze (1991), Kirk Rathjen (1992), Logan Loftus (2013), Garet Sims (2019), Ben Smith (2020) and Millie Peach (2019-21).

The float will also feature past state place winners.

The parade is set for Friday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. in Marengo. On Saturday, at 10:30 a.m., the Iowa Valley Alumni Association will host its second annual Distinguished Alumni and Outstanding Awards Ceremony, recognizing three alumni.
