Yearian advances to state golf
Marsh is medalist in class 1A

Williamsburg senior golfer Bryce Yearian advanced to the Class 3A state tournament.
Yearian finished tied for third at the 3A District Meet May 13, at Stone Creek Golf Course. He shot a 1-over 72.
Washington won the team title, and Pella also qualified.
The 3A state tournament is at Veenker Memorial Golf Course Monday, May 20, and Tuesday, May 21, in Ames.
English Valleys senior Eli Marsh earned medalist honors at the Class 1A District Tuesday, May 14, in Wapello, and advanced to the state meet.
Marsh carded a 79 at Heritage Oaks Golf Course. He won by two strokes over Cruz DeJong of Montezuma, who also qualified for state with an 81.
Third-place Peyton Roth, a junior from HLV, shot 83 and did not advance. The Warriors placed third as a team with 357 strokes, and missed out on advancing.
Winfield-Mt. Union won with 350 card, followed by Keota with 351.
BGM and English Valleys each finished tied for sixth with a 364 card.
The Class 1A State Meet was Monday, May 20, and Tuesday, May 21, at Ames Golf & Country Club.
