Exercising their First Amendment rights, 68 Henry County residents gathered at the Henry County Courthouse in Mt. Pleasant Sunday, March 2, for the first of many similar events.
These individuals stood on the sidewalks outside the courthouse donning winter gear and signs wishing to share their concerns and hopes for the future of their community.
The Henry County Democrats are proud to support these community-driven gatherings and invite all residents to join a recurring weekly First Amendment Gathering at the courthouse every Sunday at noon. These gatherings offer a space for free expression, community connection, and collective action, welcoming all who want to have their voices heard on local, state, and national issues.
Signs will be provided for those who need them, and participants are encouraged to bring their own as well.
The next gathering will be held on Sunday, March 9 at noon at the Henry County Courthouse in Mt. Pleasant. Whether you’re a long-time advocate or joining for the first time, your voice matters — and your presence makes a difference.
Together, we show that Henry County’s citizens care, engage, and stand up for the future of our community.
