The Mount Pleasant Arts IMPACT Mini Gallery, located in the public library, is proud to showcase the work of Aidan Krell throughout May and June 2025.
Aidan Krell, an Iowa native, discovered his passion for visual arts early in life. He graduated from West Burlington High School and went on to earn an associate degree in arts from Southeastern Community College. His education laid the groundwork for an experimental approach that challenges conventional techniques and explores the intersections of multiple artistic disciplines.
Krell’s creative process is rooted in intuitive exploration. He embraces both spontaneity and control, often applying heat directly to paint surfaces to trigger unexpected chemical reactions. This technique transforms ordinary pigments into dynamic, almost sculptural forms, capturing fleeting moments of change that traditional methods might overlook.
His artistic journey began with a spirit of experimentation, blending various painting styles with mixed media elements. Krell finds joy in discovery—merging new methods into hybrid forms that allow for expressive freedom while retaining technical precision. Looking ahead, he plans to continue expanding his practice by integrating even more diverse materials and textures into his evolving body of work.
In addition to the IMPACT Gallery exhibit, more of Krell’s artwork can be viewed online at: https://aok-creations-100007.square.site
The IMPACT Gallery is open during Mount Pleasant Public Library hours: Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
Krell will also exhibit his work at the Art Center of Burlington throughout August, with a reception scheduled for Friday, August 1.
