Saturday families eagerly lined four sections of central park waiting for the call to release the children to grab as many eggs as they could.
President of the Optimist Club Paul Katsion was the master of ceremonies in charge of informing the crowd.
The event was sponsored by The Optimist Club and Mt. Pleasant Hy-Vee.
Doug and Leigh Bradley happily sold brightly decorated egg cookies made by Wayland resident Ruth Rhodes to raise funds for the Optimist club as well.
Ella Rogers waited patiently on the edge of the first and second grade egg segment and was asked how many eggs she thought she could gather.
“I don’t know, a lot?” Rogers said, “Maybe like 20?”
There were smiling faces in every corner of Central Park Saturday.
Main Street Mt. Pleasant decorated and hosted this event with the Parks & Recreation Department.
Over all, the Easter bunny himself gave the whole hunt two furry thumbs-up.
